A resident of Brest, a historian by training, works as a construction worker. He became a defendant in a criminal case brought after the protests in the city in August 2020. Mikalay was detained on March 29th, 2021 in the village at his grandmother's, where he was there with a child. Three days later, he was transferred to pre-trial detention center #7, where he is currently being held. The day after his detention, on March 30th, 2021, Mikalay's second child was born.
