Photographer. Natalia took a lot of nature photographs, especially of birds, and was well known in the now-disbanded amateur ornithologist organization "Bird Protection of the Fatherland."
Natalia was diagnosed with liver cancer while in pretrial detention.
During the appeal hearing, the Supreme Court reclassified the charge from "financing extremist activity" to "assisting extremist activity" (Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code). As a result, given her poor health, Natalia's sentence was reduced to three years of restricted freedom without being sent to an open correctional facility (house arrest).

How to write a letter

✏️ It is important to share news. Mention the most notable and interesting occurrences depending on your pen-pal's interests.
✍️️ Remember that every letter is censored. This means that your letters are read by strangers whose main goal is to limit inmates' access to information or to use it against the prisoners or even you.
So try to avoid:
👉️️ harsh statements regarding ongoing political matters
👉 statements against the authorities and public servants
👉 foul language
👉 discussion of the circumstances of the criminal case
