Maxim was convicted in April 2021 under the article "Illegal collection and dissemination of information about the private life" of a judge and other persons and sentenced to imprisonment and a large fine. He was taken into custody right in the courtroom.
According to human rights activists, he was released in April 2022, having fully served his sentence.
