In 2020-2021, Ivan began working with communities within Belarus. He assembled a team of Belarusian mentors and, together with them, developed a development program.
On October 21, 2026, the Investigative Committee of Belarus opened a special investigation against nine individuals. The list includes Stanislav Botvin, Natalya Guzhova, Konstantin Kirilenko, Igor Likhach, Olga Nekhaychik, Elizaveta Plitnik, Andrei Pupkevich, Irina Trofimik, and Ivan Omelyan.
Ivan Omelyan was mentioned in the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus' publications about the "Order" coalition as a Ukrainian citizen associated with the "Neighbors" initiative.
