Dmitry was convicted in 2025 of "assisting extremist activity" and sentenced to imprisonment and a large fine. He sent a video of military vehicles passing by to the Telegram channel "Real Belarus."
On December 13, 2025, he was released following a visit to Minsk by US President Donald Trump's special representative, John Cole, and taken to Ukraine.
