Resident of Orsha. He was detained on August 19, 2020. On August 21, he was taken into custody and spent three months in a pre-trial detention center before trial. The first court of instance sentenced him to 3 years of restriction of freedom without transfer to an open institution. The prosecutor filed an appeal to the regional court due to the leniency of the sentence, but the decision was left unchanged. After this, an appeal was filed to the chairman of the regional court - the verdict again remained the original. Denis Sergeev registered at home for home chemicals and served it for six months. On 08/20/21, the Supreme Court, however, overturned all appeal rulings and sent the case for a new appeal hearing, as a result of which the guy’s sentence was changed to 3 years of restriction of freedom with a transfer to an open correctional facility.
Since September 13, 2021, he has been serving his sentence in the IUOT in Minsk.
In the fall of 2023, he was released upon expiration of his sentence.
