Alexey was first convicted in 2021 for "insulting a government official" and sentenced to restricted freedom and placement in an open-type facility.

In March 2022, while already serving his sentence, he was convicted again for comments he left on a Telegram channel addressed to the head of the law enforcement and crime prevention department of the public safety police department of the Bobruisk City Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate.

He was released in August 2023, having fully served his sentence.
