At the end of October 2022, information appeared that Alexei was detained in Russia: Korshun managed to escape to Smolensk to his relatives, then he was helped to move to Belgorod. After the outbreak of the war, he moved to Voronezh, where the police detained him on June 21. The man was taken to Belarus on October 26. At home, Korshun faces 1 to 3 years in prison for escaping.
In August 2023 he was released upon expiration of his sentence.
