On 7 April 2022, Aliaksei was detained for taking part in one of the protests held in Minsk in August 2020. He was first held in the temporary detention facility on Akrestsina Street and then transferred to a pre-trial detention center.
In the summer of 2022, Aliaksei was found guilty in a criminal case opened under the article "Organisation and preparation of actions grossly violating public order, or active participation in them" and sentenced to restricted freedom without referral to an open-type correctional facility.
