The Belarusian state TV channel reported that Alexander transferred about 800 US dollars to BYPOL in May 2021. It is worth noting that BYPOL was recognized as an extremist organization in November 2021, meaning that at the time of the transfer, the initiative was not extremist.

According to witnesses, Alexander was indeed offered compensation for the damage through a fund associated with the president. He agreed to such compensation in exchange for his release, but things did not go according to plan. Alexander was refused, and his money (about 30 bitcoins) was confiscated. It became known from social networks that Dmitry Shletgauer is 22 years old. He was born in the Russian city of Slavgorod. In 2018, he received a Belarusian residence permit. The guy worked in Kamenets at a polymer production and packaging plant.

The political prisoner was kept behind bars for a little less than a year. According to human rights activists, Dmitry's brother was also detained, but was later deported to Russia.

In early autumn, Dmitry was sent to serve his sentence in Mogilev Colony No. 15. Shortly after the transfer, he was found dead. According to preliminary information, this happened on October 11. He spent less than a month in the colony. The exact cause of death is unknown.

During the trial, Dmitry Shletgauer had a child.
