Three years ago she got married and changed her last name. The couple became famous because the guy, former football player Fedor Verbitsky, proposed to the girl right at the stadium after the end of the game.

The criminal case was prompted by a video the family made in the summer of 2020 calling for an end to violence. Father Gennady testified in court that one day in the summer of 2020, emotionally affected by the data he saw online about the violence used by the officers against protesters, he decided to record a video addressing the officers calling for a justified use of force. He came up with the text of the speech and then asked his daughter to read it. He also asked his wife to speak out about the elections. On the same day, he expressed his wishes for the future of the country on video, and at the end of his speech, he also showed a heart symbol. After that, he found videos on the Internet and edited the video. On the same day, he sent it to several of his friends and relatives.

Irina worked as a sales specialist and then as a manager at Anastan. She was convicted along with her daughter and husband.

Andrey was detained in March. Pro-government channels published a "repentant" video of him.

He is originally from the city of Slavgorod in the Mogilev region. After school, he served in the army and graduated from vocational school No. 3 with a degree in "Technical support for agricultural production." He worked in construction all his life.

The Mogilev resident faces ten to twenty years in prison. The date of detention and the nature of the charges are unknown.

As an individual entrepreneur, he was engaged in the repair and maintenance of computer equipment.

Evgeniy is a former IT manager from Mogilev. After the 2006 elections and several years of political activism, he was expelled from the history department of Mogilev University. He graduated from the history department in Poznan and worked as a manager at an IT company, supplying dairy products. In 2013, Evgeniy returned to Belarus, immediately got married, and then went to work. While he had previously focused primarily on public and academic activities (in the student ethnographic society and the oral history archive), he has now gone into business.

And since the beginning of 2017, he has taken on a new occupation: at the request of clients, he has recorded interviews with their village grandparents and edited documentaries.

He is accused of aiding extremist activity.

Evgeniya has a wife and two small children waiting for her at home.

On February 15, 2024, a "counter-terrorism operation" was declared in the Lelchitsy District of the Gomel Region on the border with Ukraine. Residents were asked to "remain calm and comply with the orders of law enforcement officers." The KGB claimed to have detained members of a "sabotage and reconnaissance group" that included citizens of Ukraine and Belarus. The exact number of detainees has not been reported.

After his arrest, Sergei was diagnosed with cancer in pretrial detention.

On February 15, 2024, a "counter-terrorism operation" was declared in the Lelchitsy district of the Gomel region on the border with Ukraine. The KGB claimed to have detained members of a "sabotage and reconnaissance group" that included citizens of Ukraine and Belarus. Among those detained were father and son Sergei and Pavel Kabarchuks, Ukrainian citizens. Sergei Kabarchuks, born in 1963, are from the Kovel district of the Volyn region. The father and son were detained in February 2024 in the Lelchitsy district. "Explosive devices and other weapons of destruction" were found on them. The KGB "determined" that the explosive devices were intended for terrorist attacks in Belarus and Russia, and that the "infiltration of the group" was organized by the Security Service of Ukraine.

Vitaly Vlasyuk, a resident of Brest born in 1970, was also arrested at the same time. He was charged with smuggling (Part 3 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code).

He was tortured in the KGB pretrial detention center. After his arrest, he was held in the KGB pretrial detention center for several days without food.

The Kabarchuks lived in a small village in the Volyn region, where their family was waiting for them. Before his arrest, Pavel worked as a driver, transporting people to work from Ukraine to Poland.

Pavel was sent to Correctional Colony No. 1 to serve his 20-year sentence, but his stay there was short—about two months. Of that time, he spent less than two weeks in the prison unit; the rest of the time was spent in solitary confinement and a punishment cell. Soon after, Pavel's sentence was increased and he was sent to Mogilev Prison No. 4, where he also experienced pressure.

In the summer of 2026, it became known that a new criminal case had been opened against Pavel at Mogilev Prison No. 4 under Article 411 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, the first five of which will be in a penal colony.
