Accomplice to crimes against the rights and freedoms of citizens of Belarus. Gavrilyuk Sergei Mikhailovich is an employee of law enforcement agencies involved in politically motivated repressions. He acted as a state prosecutor in the case of Alexander Potapovich. The man was accused of trying to run over police officers with his car on the night of August 9. Gavrilyuk believes that Alexander's guilt is confirmed by the case materials, including the testimony of six employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. However, Alexander did not admit his guilt. He claims that he was simply afraid of the crowd from different sides and drove in a direction where people were not visible. The investigative experiment confirmed that in those conditions it was impossible to recognize the police officers. The lawyers also drew attention to the contradictions in the testimony of witnesses. Alexander was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of restricted freedom with referral to an open-type correctional facility. Gavrilyuk was not satisfied with this sentence and he challenged it, achieving a prison sentence for Alexander to be served in a general regime penal colony.
