Categories: Judges

Accomplice to crimes against the rights and freedoms of citizens of Belarus. Piskunova Irina Viktorovna supports Lukashenko’s regime and politically motivated repressions. She handed down guilty verdicts in politically motivated cases, where she imposed penalties in the form of a fine totaling at least 675 rubles. She found a civilian guilty under Part 1 of Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and sentenced him to a fine of 25 basic units for participating in a protest. Convicted doctor Nikolai Kozich under Part 3 of Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and sentenced him to 15 days of administrative arrest. The judge was asked to replace the arrest with a fine due to the spread of coronavirus infection, but Piskunova left the previous sentence. On October 30, 2020, she rejected the claim of wrongly detained Tatyana Bachurnaya, who demanded that her detention in a temporary detention facility for 70 hours before trial be declared illegal and that she be awarded moral damages. However, Piskunova considered that detaining people on Friday before trial on Monday is normal practice and there is nothing extraordinary about it. This measure is necessary to ensure the appearance of offenders in court. Tatyana Bachurnaya's lawyer tried to convince the court that the general rule is for a person to be free; detention should be an exception. But Piskunova did not change her decision.
